Treasure Island Music Festival Line Up Announced!

Happy day!  The Treasure Island Music Festival has announced the line up for this fall’s event scheduled October 17-18, 2009 on Treasure Island in San Francisco. As usual, the line up is divided into the more electro pop/hip hop day on Saturday and the indie rock day on Sunday. Single day tickets are $65 and early bird two-day passes go on sale tomorrow at noon for $99 (limited availability).  Get your tickets and get ready!

Saturday, October 17 features: MGMT, MSTRKRFT, Girl Talk, Passion Pit, Brazilian Girls, The Streets, Dan Deacon, LTJ Bukem, DJ Krush and more.

Sunday, October 18 features: The Flaming Lips, The Decemberists, Beruit, Grizzly Bear, Yo La Tengo, Bob Mould, The Walkmen, Sleepy Sun, Vetiver and more.

AT&T Fails SXSW iPhone Test

Hey all you iPhone users heading to SXSW this week: good luck Twittering, texting and making phone calls. The annual SXSW geekfest has been well underway and already reports for iPhone reception is dismal.  This is likely the first year thousands of iPhone users have descended on Austin and AT&T is unprepared.  A recent update says the company is adding capacity but it may be a good idea to buddy up with a friend on a different network just in case.

NoisePop 2009 Dates, Pre-Sale, Early Lineup Announced

The 17th annual NoisePop Festival has been set for February 24 – March 1, 2009. Early artist confirmations include New Pornographers front man AC Newman, No Age, Pinback side project Goblin Cock, Dear And The Headlights, the Bay Area debut of Clues and a very special performance by Antony and the Johnsons, kicking off a festival roster that will include over 100 bands.
