SEPT 6: SFMOMA ‘Field Conditions’ After Party with Jonas Reinhardt

Can there be architecture without buildings? What if a wall or a floor went on forever? What happens to the space of a room as people move through it?

Field Conditions, a new exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art opening September 1, will explore these questions through an array of immersive installations and projects by notable architects and contemporary artists. The works on view pose provocative questions about the construction, experience, and representation of space, inviting us to imagine beyond the frame.

On Thursday, September 6, the spatial experiments will extend beyond the museum’s walls when SFMOMA’s A+D Forum hosts an opening reception after-party at Public Workswhere local musicians and visual artists will use their own language to provoke a spatial condition inspired by Field Conditions.

Featured performances by Jonas Reinhardt, Jamie JamsDJ Dials, Loric, and Primo Pitino; with visuals by Camilla Padgitt-Coles, EVDM, and AOI.  The event is open to the public and starts at 9:30 p.m. Public Works is located at 161 Erie Street in San Francisco. Tickets to the event are available for $10 at Eventbrite. Get your dancing shoes on and come out to support Bay Area architecture and design!
