LCD Soundsystem Debut Song at YSL Fashion Show

Nirvana!  Fashion and music…from LCD Soundsystem nonetheless. By way of @Pitchfork, I came across this video of LCD Soundsystem spinning a new song for the Yves St. Laurent Fall 2010-11 fashion show.  There is no word as to whether or not this track will appear on their forthcoming album expected to release May 17. So until then all we can do is speculate what they have in store for us and how this Flying Nun look those YSL models are sporting will work for me. What do you think?

Ty Segall & Mikal Cronin – “I Wear Black”

How do I love thee, Ty Segall? Let me count the ways. Here’s a new video that cropped up for the track “I Wear Black” from the duo Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin (of Charlie and The Moonhearts) off their album Reverse Shark Attack. Whatever that means.

Caribou – “Odessa” [Video]

The new video from Caribou for “Odessa”, the single of their forthcoming album Swim on April 20.  Cannot wait for these guys to swing back through town.

Wild Beasts – “We’ve Still Got The Taste Dancing On Our Tongues”

The UK’s Wild Beasts both challenges and intrigues me.  I haven’t heard anything like it, which intrigues me.  And there’s something about listening to their music that’s pleasantly uncomfortable.  That challenges me. I can’t seem to tell if I like it or hate it, but find myself listening to it over and over again to determine the answer.  Hmm…effective.

Jack White Directs New Video for The Black Belles

The Black Belles - “What Can I Do?”

Jack White’s Third Man Records has released the debut single from the new group The Black Belles, whose 7 inch single “What Can I Do?” is out now.  Expect to see more from this group.

Shadows on a River – “Hurricanes”

Enjoy this new video from Shadows on a River, the Chicago-based group that stole my heart and made their way to my Best of 2009 list last year.

Band of Skulls – “Death By Diamonds and Pearls”

The latest video from one of my favorite bands of 2009, Band of Skulls. If you have the chance to see them live, do so.

Video: The Morning Benders & The Big Echo Orchestra – “Excuses”

A beautifully executed video from the folks at Yours Truly. And an amazing new tune by  our very own The Morning Benders from their upcoming album Big Echo featuring the who’s who of San Francisco musicians. Kumbaya, SF!

And You Thought Lady GaGa Was Strange….

Check out this video of Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer (The Knife) accepting a major award at Sweden’s P3 Guild ceremony last week. Let your freak flag fly, Karin.

Beast – “Mr. Hurricane”

Loved this music video from the Montreal-based duo calling themselves Beast. The video is so good it received a Grammy nod for Best Short Form Video.  Enjoy!
